Like our gunpowder standard, this brisk, smooth green tea was first produced in China’s Zhejiang Province (浙江省) during the Tang Dynasty, 618–907 AD. It is also known as Zhu Cha (珠茶, pearl tea), alluding to the pearl- or pinhead-like tightly rolled leaves. Compared to our standard gunpowder, this pinhead classic speciality imparts a smoother and richer yellowish green, clear infusion and a more pungent honeyed taste with a lingering sensation on the palate, well-balanced and non-astringent.
Gunpowder tea is also regarded highly for its beneficial and antioxidant properties. This tea contains high levels of catechin, epigallocatechin gallate and the amino acid L-theanine.
It is a unique blend of art and alchemy, tradition and vision, sourced sustainably, and focused on well-being.
